Which restaurants would you recommend going to in either Birmingham, Manchester or London?

I would like to know which restaurants you like to go in the following places, Birmingham, Manchester or London. I would prefer these restaurants to be of high status, such as michelin-starred restaurants.

I can only speak for Manchester (not a resident but visitor.)
Manchester has a great China Town with budgets to suit all.
There is also a great Gay area near the canal that has fabulous restaurants.Near the railway station.

What percentage of restaurants use guest paging systems?

I want to know roughly what percentage of all restaurants use these. Not which ones use them, not how many restaurants there are in the world, but what percentage of restaurants use the guest paging systems that vibrate and/or make noise when a guest’s table is ready.

16, but you can’t work past 11 pm or more than 40 hours school + work.

How do restaurants usually grill their meats?

I can tell the difference of quality in the meat between some restaurants like Carabas, Macaroni Grill, Bahama Breeze, etc…

Do these restaurants use wood burning grills? Why are these so much better than a regular grill?

That depends on a LOT of factors:

The restaurant…….Five Star restaurants are going to use MUCH better cuts and qualities of meat:

Some restaurants actually have Kobe beef FLOWN IN FROM JAPAN. Kobe beef is the most expensive beef ON OUR PLANET, as the cows are fed beer and massaged 2 times a day (and NO, I’m NOT lying there).

Second, 80% of restaurants will do the French method of preparing meat, which is either starting it on a fire (like a gas grated grill) or in a screaming hot pan, and then transfer it for "final" doneness in the oven. This method is Au Poivre (Aw-P’waw) method, and is the perfect way to insure a good steak.

I am trying to find out what restaurants pay to have their trash removed, which company they use for this service and how often they are charged. I would also like to know the name of the restaurant and the city/state. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help with this question.

Do some homework. If you’re interested in local rates, visit them and ask. If not local, use the yellow pages or google to find names and numbers of restaurants, and call them.

I’m from just outside of Philadelphia. I’m 18 and my girlriend is turning 18. I’m planning on taking her into NYC for her birthday. Any ideas on good restaurants that I can bring her to? I don’t want to go anywhere cheap, but I also don’t want to go anywhere that will run me a 300 dollar bill. Any idea where I can take her for a nice hundred dollar dinner?

I’m going to New York for college visits, and I was just wondering what decently priced (preferably cheap) AND good restaurants are in the Manhattan area.

I’ve looked on the internet and a lot of restaurants are too expensive. I don’t know where to look because I’m not familiar with the area.

I know that a lot of the restaurants there are pretty expensive.

It depends on what type of food you prefer like if you like mexican food there’s a great spot in Union Street called Calexico Carne Asada.Tacos are like 3-4$ and the burritos are like 7-8$. It’s more remote and smaller if you want more privacy, there’s a bit of a wait but it’s great food. Or you could go to like a Chipotle which are like everywhere in 34th st. ,42nd st., Noho, park ave., the village. There’s also a place with the best $9 plate of pasta it’s called Atlas Café in 116 Havemeyer St.

The ground meat in mexican restaurants is very fine. How do I get ground meat that fine for taco’s at home?

In mexican restaurants, how do they get the ground beef very, very fine without using a food processor? I would like to do this at home so I can eat ground beef taco’s again?

At the supermarket ask the "guy" behind the meat counter for a fine grind of ground beef. You might have to give them a little bit of time but if you go to the meat counter first put in the request then finish your shopping it should be done by the time you are ready to check out.
Do not grind beef in your food processor you will have a messy paste.
If you can not get the grocery store meat department to do this get your ground beef home and begin to brown it up, add a bit of water to the beef, about 1/2 cup and begin to really break it up. By the time the water has evaporated and the beef begins to brown the beef should be in pretty fine bits.
If you have a Kitchen Aid type mixer get a meat grinder attachment for it. You can then grind your own in fine grind for the taco or a coarse grind for things like chili and sauces.
There are hand grinders that are fairly inexpensive that attach to the counter that you could use as well. Save money and grind the meat yourself.

What about local restaurants? Do they need to have it in the restaurant or is it ok just to have it online? If they don’t can they get in trouble?

Right now in Texas it is voluntary. A lot of places due it because of the pressure their customers put on them and if they do they put it online because you are more likely to eat the item and then look it up later.

What are the laws regarding restaurants displaying health/nutrition facts on the packaging of the product?

I am writing a paper about this and am having trouble finding what I’m looking for. Are there any laws right now that force restaurants (especially fast food) to do this? I noticed that McDonald’s already does do it but other companies do not.

They have to have it available because of food allergies and the like, but they don’t have to display it. They figure if you are diabetic you will know not to order death by chocolate, or you’ll ask first.

As far as packaging, generally restaurants don’t really have packaging, unless you mean the wrapper the big mac comes in?
