Italian chef wants to open own restaurant in USA?
I am an Italian young Chef who had spent the past 7 years working in an Italian restaurant in NYC.I want and i am ready to open my own and i would like to have some ideas about how to choose the perfect city.I am flexible to move away from NYC and open to many options.
Thanks you all.
It is best to go through a real estate agent.
He/She can (or at least should) run a demographics and see what available to you.
If one area is concentated with Italian restaurants and that is the type of restaurant you will want to open, it will not do well with the established competitions unless you can bring something unique.
You’ll have to look for an area where there is a need or concentration of alternatives restaurants (ie. Chinese restaurant) where people will want a change.
Good luck!

Chicago. Still a great food city and if you get in now you can get a restaurant and a condo cheap before the recovery kicks in.
