Any authentic Italian restaurants in Portland?

Are there any truly authentic Italian restaurants in Portland? Not Macaroni Grill or any other chains… I am asking about a restaurant owned by Italians with an Italian staff?
My husband and I are thinking of opening an authentic italian restaurant there, he is from Sicily… do you think it would do good there? Do you think people would appreciate and go to a real italian restaurant?

Assuming Portland OR…

Well, close to Italian is Mediterranean, my wife and I LOVE the Lauro Kitchen, as far as Italian, we’ve been to Iorio on Hawthorne as well and like it. Been to Mama Mia’s downtown and that’s pretty good, owned by the folks who own Mothers. Not sure you’ll get Italian staff….that’s a challenge anywhere you go.

    I can name one place that has good pizza (Escape from New York on NW 23rd) but thats it.
