How can i season soup such that it tastes like the ones served in italian restaurants?

what can i put to give a simple carrot tomato soup a nice flavour apart from pepper and salt

tomatoes and basil, and a touch of garlic.

The secret is slowly simmering it.

Chop some fresh parsley and oregano, and sprinkle a bit of parm/reggiano cheese in it. You will get that great home made Italian flavor.

Many restaurants might accommodate you.
Bring you own pot, don’t bother cooking, just reheat.
I know of a Mexican restaurant that sold tamales on Saturday (by Friday orders),, For big family dinners at home.
Soup is simple with a crock pot.

saute onions and garlic 4 mins first before you add your stock. add stock right to it. with the onions and garlic also saute one of the following: pick from
just rosemary
sage (or bay leaves)with marjoram, parsley (just take the leave out at the end)
