  3. Maggianos is owned by the same Greek owner of Papagus, the best Greek restaurant in North America. I used to eat there twice a day when I visited Chicago. I’m married to a Greek woman, and spent lots of time in Greek restaurants in Los Angels, NY, Toronto and Montreal, and Papagus is the best.

Maggianos is very good, and fun, but not GREAT! Papagus is great.

via veneto’s on peterson (OMG! fabulous and huge portions, and not a chain restaurant) and Dave’s Italian Kitchen in Evanston (cheap!)

  6. I went to this place called Sopranos on New Years Eve and it was fantastic. i felt like I was in the movies. I don’t remeber where it was exactly, but I highly recommend it. You can find it on Yahoo! Yellow PAges

  7. Maggiano’s is great, and the dishes are huge! I also like Trattoria Caterina at Dearborn & Harrison. I just tried Papa Milano on State just north of Chicago recently. Very cute, cozy place with great food, and cheap!

Also, check out metromix; you can do a search for Italian restaurants and pick a price range as well as location (city neighborhood, suburb, etc).
