On the other hand, if you want to grow a small number of birds in your yard to supply eggs and meat for your family you will most likely want a portable chicken coop, better known as a chicken ark. Portable poultry housing has two large advantages. They will help you keep your feed bills lower and keep your chickens healthier. Plus, constructing a little ark will be much easier and cheaper than a full-blown chicken coop. Think carefully about how many chickens you want to raise because this will dictate which type of chicken housing you need.
