How much do you tip for restaurant delivery?

They advertise free delivery

nothing in that case or a dollar or two extra if the delivery was extraordinary like in a storm, remote location, extra complicated order.

The same as you would for at-the-table service. About 15% is the general rule.

Wow the answers really vary. I tip at least 2 dollars. Say for an individual delivery order of $10+ dollars. If the order is above $20, I give about $3. I never give more than 3 dollars.

To the lady that said same as at a table-15%, the current tip rate at a restaurant where you are sit down dining is 20% FYI.

Free delivery just means the restaurant isn’t charging you for someone to bring it to you. You should still give a tip to the delivery person because they drove it to you. Just think of what the convenience is to you for you not to have to cook, nor have to drive to pick it up. 15% is ok for this service unless your total is less than $15 when 15% is only $2. In that case an extra dollar or two wont hurt.
