restaurant tipping guide?

does anyone know where you can get online, a free tip guide to print out to keep in a wallet?
it is very hard for me to do math. i can’t figure well on paper, and i can’t do it in my mind at all. i need something that shows me just what to pay.

take the first number of the bill and double it. If it is like $45 then you would leave $8-9. Hope this helps

  1. Usually doubling the sales tax is a good way to tip

  2. Don’t use a chart tip on the quality of the service notice I said service not the quality of the food. They are not to be penalized for the chef’s makings

    Outstanding at least 3x tax
    Average 2x tax
Poor let them know by lees of a tip
inexcusable- 1cent, this way they will know you did not forget to tip, they did not deserve a tip. This should let them know to step up the service or that they are in the wrong job

  3. The tips have nothing to do with the tax on what you bought. The average tip is in between 15% and 20% of your bill. If you give anything less than 10% and you get that waitress again, it’s guaranteed that your service wont be nearly as good as you would have liked.

  4. The correlation between tax and tip is that sales tax is 7.65%…. If you double it, you have about 15%, which is a recommended average tip for good service.

However, if you received exemplary service or particularly poor service, it should be reflected in your tip.
