    When I was in London recently I went to my favourite shop, John Lewis in Oxford St., and tried their Brasserie restaurant for the 1st time. I usually eat on the top floor but was laden down with pillows I’d just bought (!) so wanted waitress service instead of self service. I had fish n chips + bread n butter pudding for dessert and it was delicious!(Since I don’t live in the UK, I love to have the old faves when I visit!).They were nicely presented + I also managed to get a view of the square.

    I went to Ramsay’s Boxwood Cafe in 2005 and it was very good – especially as my brother was paying.

    Yeah, it’s really good stuff. if i lived closer to london i would go back tomorrow lol. i’ve spent a lot more on water especially in paris recently at up to 10 euros a bottle!

    I went on Thursday just gone to celebrate my birthday. We had the taster menu and had two courses each. Yes, the prices are expensive – VERY expensive, but the food was the best food I have ever eaten in my life.

    I agree with your comment about the staff not ridiculing you for not buying alcohol. To be honest, me and my boyfriend didn’t have an awful lot of money to buy wine, so we opted for the £4 bottle of Evian instead! We were even taken around the kitchen for a quick tour. Amazing place

    £70.00 focking pounds per head!Not including drink!So you could be talking £200.00 pounds including drink for two!Anyone who pays this for a meal is Focking Nuts!!I could go to the harbour and Fill my Freezer with fresh fish for this amount of money!!No Wonder this country is in the !!No food is worth this money!!Absolutely Focking None!

    It really is a poor review, this restaurant does not take things to the next level, it’s doing what El Bulli has been doing for years but on a much smaller scale. Also for a one star it is expensive. Kwai you must go to some poor “fine dining” restaurants if you are treated with disdain for not ordering champagne and wine. Try Arbutus or Chez Bruce for one stars at half those prices, friendly waiters too.
    All said, the food at Maze is worth it’s star and the Evian is excellent
