Snowboarding in Cervinia, Italy

Important info: This location is more than the Italian side of the Matterhorn (or Cervino, in Italian). The higher, sunny, snow-sure pistes are laid out over a valley head – wide runs that all head back down towards the village. The region links up with the slopes of Zermatt at the top, making a huge 350km of runs.

Great for: Delicious Italian food that is not going to break the bank at the mountain restaurants in appealing chalets (attempt the Chalet Etoile), as well as lots of good pizza joints, in addition to some goodies like the Baita Cretaz restaurant – only accessible by skidoo as soon as the lifts are shut.

Added bonus: Runs all stay wide, comfortable and steady right towards the base. And the village is small enough to be able to allow some older children go searching the stores independently.
