One thing that can be overlooked when shopping for a first radio control toy is battery life and recharge time. The least expensive rc tanks might offer a run time of 10-15 minutes with a recharge time over an hour. More expensive tanks with better batteries might offer an hour or so of play time before the battery must be recharged. It is a good idea to ask what the expected play time is per model and also how long it takes to recharge fully. The quality of the tracks is also very important. Inexpensive models may not have fully articulated tracks. They can run fine indoors, but encounter more difficulty negotiating obstacles like tree roots outside in your yard.
